Wednesday, 8 October 2008, Sydney: Portable technology company, Mint Wireless Limited (ASX:MNW) ('the Company'), announced today it has secured orders to supply the Mint Portable Payment System (PPS) to a range of new customers, most notably, Solid Plus, a wholly owned subsidiary of national tyre distributor Tyres 4 U, and Servco trading as AGL Assist Pty Limited, a provider of energy appliances and ancillary services for national energy supplier, AGL Electricity's Victorian operations.
Order details:
-
Tyres 4 U has purchased 34 Mint PPS user licences for their remote maintenance personnel initially, with further users expected to come online over the coming quarter. Tyres 4 U are paying $49 per month for each license purchased over a 24 month agreement. Each Tyres 4 U user is processing approximately 4 transactions per day at $0.99 per transaction.

AGL Assist has initially purchased 28 Blackberry Curve handsets and Mint PPS licences for their mobile technicians. The order was placed through Optus billed at $49 per month for each licence over a 24 month agreement. Each AGL Assist user is processing approximately 5 transactions per day at $0.99 per transaction.
Mint Wireless CEO, Alex Teoh, said that the orders reflect the growing reputation of the Mint PPS amongst a diverse range of companies with nationwide operations and illustrates the Company's growing presence amongst potential mid-market customers.
"We are continuing to see a range of new orders originating from customers of different types and sizes. The addition of larger customers such as Tyres 4 U and AGL Assist, to our growing customer base illustrates Mint's strengthening market recognition amongst companies with a national presence and reflects rigorous sales and marketing activities," Mr. Teoh said.
"Both AGL Assist and Tyres 4 U are leading companies in their respective sectors, and it is pleasing to see that the PPS has broad and diverse industry applications, opening up new target markets.
Mr. Teoh commented that the order wins demonstrate Mint's capability to deliver customised payment solutions to an increasingly diverse range of industries and sectors.
"We are strengthening our capability to deliver the Mint PPS to companies using sophisticated and industry-specific back-end IT systems. In the case of Tyres 4 U, we worked with the in-house IT team to successfully integrate the PPS with the tyre industry's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Marlin.
"The Mint solution has positively impacted cash-flow and streamlined financial processes for many companies with similar needs to Tyres 4 U and AGL Assist. As a result, we are confident that as the PPS gains greater market penetration, and as more companies move towards innovative payments solutions, we will continue to secure larger and more complex orders," Mr. Teoh added.
AGL Assist's Financial Controller, Marnix van Gaalen, said the Mint PPS has improved the company's cash-flow and boosted administrative efficiency.
"Until we partnered with Optus and Mint, our technicians would complete a job and have the credit card payments processed only when the paperwork was returned back to the office. Whenever a credit card payment was declined, the process became even more cumbersome. Start by calling the customer followed by producing an invoice and possibly debt collection it could be two months before we saw the money."
"Now we can offer instant payment by credit card and provide an invoice on the spot money is in the bank 24 hours later and there's no back-office paperwork."
"Mint expects to announce further significant order wins as agreements are finalised over the coming months," Mr. Teoh concluded.
