Mint - setting industry standards for security

We implement the same data encryption system used by most of the world's major banks. Plus every transaction is automatically - and wirelessly - credit checked, protecting against bad debt and fraud, while dramatically improving cash flow.
Mint has also achieved full compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Version 1. The requirements of the standard are set out by card issuers and financial institutions to ensure the protection of cardholder data and payment processing against theft, fraud and misuse.
Mint has several safeguards against fraud:
- Firstly, it produces the credit card number encoded on the magnetic stripe on the screen before signing. This means you can check that the card being used has the same account number as what’s recorded on the magnetic strip.
- Mint also has automatic velocity checks to ensure the same credit card is not used twice, this guards against fraud by monitoring each transaction for higher-than-usual transaction rates within a given time frame.
- Mint uses Secure-Swipe Technology, where all sensitive information is encrypted by Mint. Therefore, no sensitive information ever passes into the airwaves or into our secure server, keeping the customer, and you, safe from this type of fraud. None of the credit card information is stored on the mobile phone either.
